What renamed "Shared Documents" folder?

By TriActServ ·
The "Shared Documents" folder on my PC (WinXP Pro)is now called "Documents". I can't change it back ("Documents is a WIndows system folder....").

How could that happen?

It still lists its purpose as "Contains files and folders shared by users of this computer" and I don't seem to have lost any functionality.

Just strange that such a thing would happen.

On other PC's in the office running WinXP Pro, this hasn't happened, and I can actually rename the "Shared Documents" folder.

The most likely thing that could have happened here is that someone has somehow managed to delete the My Documents Folder and the Shared Documents has defaulted to the Documents Folder.

If you really must cure this you can create another User Profile once you log in as the Admin and when you have everything working properly delete the corrupt User Account but just Do Not click the Delete Folders related to this Account or you'll loose all the data of that user.

The "My Documents" folder is still there and functioning. The "Documents" folder is still functioning; it just has a different name than it used to.
