What Software do you use to trouble shoot?

By Tyharo ·
I've recently been doing lots of computer repairs and have a found several pieces of software I continually use. I usually use:
-Diskmax
-Registry Life
-Malwarebytes
-Threatfire or Avir
What software do you usually use to fix computer related problems such as slow downs and viruses?

Troubleshoot software

by cookie3636 In reply to What Software do you use ...

PC Matic(USA) does it all, keeps computer clean & fast used every 2/3 weeks, and is suprisingly responsive to any queries asked direct. You get a full report, it updates all your drivers, and keeps a tight reign on cluttering up your Startup list so get get fast access.

If you do not want to delve into seperate registries etc. or are not confident then this is the only one you need. cheers cookie3636

For strictly troubleshooting

by a.portman In reply to What Software do you use ...

I work in a school environment. At this point, the teachers gum up machines more than students. For troubleshooting, I start with WinPatrolToGo (http://www.winpatroltogo.com/) and Revo Uninstaller. (http://www.revouninstaller.com/) Revo will show you what is installed on the machine. It does a MUCH better job at uninstalling software than the built in uninstaller. Great to find and kill maleware and browser add-ons. It also has a startup editor so you can see what is loading on startup and make changes.

WinPatrolToGo can run off of a USB drive. It will show what is running right now along with the services and startup file. You can find a running maleware/virus and stop it from running and then remove it.

I rarely need to run network scanning, but wireshark is a great tool if you need that in your environment.
