What to charge?

By tdol40 ·
What to charge clients
When you arrive at a clients place of business or home to do something simple like setting up a new PC and connecting to a network or set up a peer-to-peer with 3 or 4 machines and suddenly something weird happens (like error 624 on W2k) that causes you to go into a major learning curve to correct and get back on track, should you eat this time, or continue your charges as normal?

I would say it would depend somewhat on your relationship to the client. Also is this an area that you that you should have forseen or just and odd problem. Most likely if it was me I would charge for it. However, I might give them a discount for part of it and show it on their bill.
