What to do with old File Server

By KIWIMARSI ·
I inhereted an undocumented network therefore I had to visit each PC and record specs. I came across a machine that used to be the file server. I recently pulled it out an plugged it in. The machine is running WINNT 4.0 SP3. It has a total of 4GB ofHD space, 112MG of RAM, and is a 90MHZ x86 Family processor. Drives C,D, & E are all mirrored with Drive C being formatted with FAT and D & E formatted with NTFS. I need some ideas about what I can do with this machine. I problably know the answers to my question but I am curious about what other techies think.

Wipe the drives, and if required use a disk over-write utility to make it harder to extract any data.

Find a non-profit that would appreciate the server.
Many non-profits would love a network setup, but can't afford one.

It would make a great boat anchor! Not really. The Chas has a great idea. I know a few non-profit businesses in my area that would appreciate something like this. You can also consider calling a local tech school and donating it to them. Not only would you be doing something good for the community, it can be considered a tax write off as well. Just my two cents....
