Hello, me again with another dilema. I have decided to get my B.S. at the University of South Florida, but I need to finish my Liberal Arts/Gen Education classes, so I plan to take these at a community college near where I live. I currently work an hour and a half away, and this would seriously cut into the times I could attend class.
I’ve always felt I learn more from a class in person so I am trying to avoid internet-based courses; this obviously conflicts with (or will conflict) with work.
I could keep my job now and only take one or two courses, or I could leave and be able to take more classes, but find something close to where I live (the area where I live has practically zero IT jobs). This second option is more of a long-term thing, since probably by the end of the year I will move to Tampa (where USF is located) and there are more job prospects there.
What would you do in this situation? Limit your schooling to keep an IT job (keep in mind the hour and a half one-way commute), or work in a non-IT related position close to home/school until schooling is finished? I of course realize that the final decision is up to me, but I’m trying to weigh the various options.
Thanks!
