if it came with a factory install cd, use that to reimage the hard drive to it's factory settings. if that doesn't work, take the computer back and get a refund.

If it is a new pc, take it back and get new one before the warranty is void. Good luck.

First of all, since you have just purchased it, go back and change a new one.
Now, about the error. Do you know that you should not do Fdisk and formatting? When the problem happened, you could just do what the computer said - reinstall Windows Me again. And I think everything would be fine. Even if you intend to uninstall and reinstall all the softwares in that computer, you should not do fdisk. All you need is to clear the hard drive, and reinstall everything. When you try to fix the problem, you made it worse.
Well, since you have already fdisk and format the hard drive, I guess the problem that you ran in may be because of your mistake when doing fdisk. I am not sure about that since I don't hand on troubleshoot your computer. It also can be your Win Me version. Some Windows version that included with the computer when sold are not a complete version.
...... Well there 's many more thing to say, however, My suggestion is that return the computer and take a new one.
Good luck,

Hi
Returning to the Vendor might be a good idea, but if you wish to try Reinstalling. OK

1. After FDisk you don't need to format the HD, just change the BIOS setting to CD Boot and follow the instruction. (Error Msg: maybe due to the OS ver. you use to format.)

2.WinME have a restore function install on it, so if next time you have problem after installing some software. Dont have to format the HD. Go to safeMode(F and follow the instruction Restore your OS.

3.Last the problem you face could be solve by just find and DEL the replaced *.DLL file and reboot the PC. WinME will restore the missing *.DLL file if it part of the OS.

Hope This Help, Have A Nice Day.
