When I open a new document in Word 2007 I get a saved document.

Somehow I saved a document or formatted it accidentally so that every time I try to open Word for a new document I get the saved document. I tried to delete the text in the saved document to no avail. How do I undo this. I’d like to be able to open to a new document and get a blank page right now that is not happening.

      Looks like a bad Normal.dot

What you problem sounds like to me, is that you’ve somehow saved over your ‘normal’ template.

If you go into Word’s ‘Options’, and click on the ‘File Locations’ tab, you should see something that refers to ‘User Templates’.

That template location should refer to something like “C:\[user configurations] (“Users” for Win 7/Vista or “Documents and Settings” for XP and below)\[username]\Application data\Microsoft\Templates\”
      Or something similar.

Your Normal.dot will be there, and you can either delete it or rename it. When you open Word again, it should recreate normal.dot and you should be right to go.

      Hope it helps.
      Edited for clarity.
