When Recycle Bin Icons Attack.

Strangest thing. I have a WIN98 pc that whenever a shortcut is created, it now appears as a recycle bin icon. All icons on the desktop are now recycle bin icons. When i delete the icon and recreate it from its folder in program files, it again appears as a recycle bin icon. This is annoying!! Thanks
