You do not need Fdisk to format a hard drive but if you want to delete or make partitions you can do a search for Fdisk on the internet and download it and copy it to floppy or if you have a boot floppy that came with your computer it should be on there. Fdisk will not format your hard drive. For that you will need to run Format which is on your boot floppy or you can download that also from the internet.

You cannot download fdisk from the web,it is a windows dos utility, create a windows start up disk, insert in floppy and boot computer, select the option to run setup without cd-rom support, you will receive a command prompt, type in fdisk

checck the bios setup screen, and change the boot order to floppy being first

For Windows 95, you need a startup disk.
If you do not have one, you can download an image from www.bootdisk.com

For Windows 98, you can create a startup disk from the startup disk tab on the Add/Remove programs menu.

For Windows Me, I believe it is the same as W98.

For Windows XP, you can right click on your floppy drive (with a blank disk in the drive) and choose from the menu to create a DOS boot disk.

There is a download of an updated version of fdisk that supports hard drives up to 137GB available at www.microsoft.com
There was a link to this download at www.bootdisk.com
