Most companies have Trial Versions or you could Beta Test product.

Of course if you want the finial release without paying for it that's not going to happen legally.

I didn't think that the OP was referring to Open Source but specific Propriety Software that is in general Use on Windows Systems.

Of course if they want Open Source Distro Watch is always a good starting point.

Or Source Forge

http://sourceforge.net/directory/

Then there is always CNet Downloads.

There might be some poor kids in China just "starving for Adobe Photoshop", but design software typically is not considered to be required to live, so you either use a demo version, go open source, or goto a school training class where you can use the app for free, on their computer.

on a site that gives away free, legal, licensed software daily. Every day they have a different program so it's kinda touchy on what you can get >>> http://giveawayoftheday.com/

but what I get out of that story is they are shutting down torrent sites that aren't necessarily legal, the site I posted is legal. I'm not a fan of torrent sites, they always have the nasties kicking around. Grant you, removing those nasties is always good for a little spending $$ for me

Counterfeit Hand-bags. I haven't seen many on Torrents. :0

Just some of those sites where Torrents others sold what is considered by the US Legal System Counterfeit.

edited because HandBAG=s is apparently a unsatisfactory word. Now I'm wondering why it is so.
