OS: Win98
I have a relatively new Epox motherboard with an 800 MHz AMD processor that has integrated game port and sound jacks (speaker, mic, and something else). Recently, I tried to install an internal PCI ADSL modem I got from my ISP, but for whatever reason it did not work so I sent it back. I reinstalled my old 56K modem after I took out the ADSL.
Somewhere along the line, my sound stopped working. There is no longer any sound coming out of my speakers. The sound icon is visible in my system tray, and when I run an application that uses sound I can see on the Wave indicator that it is processing sound. None of my applications that use sound complain about a sound card not being available or whatever. I checked the Device Manager… the sound card is available and is not conflicting. I reinstalled the drivers, and then I even reinstalled Windows 98. No sound.
I’m out of ideas. Can anyone help?
