Where did the email go?

by howardhenderson . Updated 25 years, 5 months ago

Hi All,

I think this should be an easy question…

I’ve got an internal email system set up on a small 50 node ‘vanilla’ network – Exchange Server 5.5 as server (on NT 4.0), with Outlook 2000 as clients.

One of my users reported sending a sensitive email message to an errant address. The user reported getting the message of something to the effect of ‘message undeliverable – forwarding to system administrator’.

He is worried that it will ‘fall into the wrong hands’ and wants me as network administrator to find it and delete it.

Where exactly would that message have gone? I have administrative privileges to all aspects of the network, and I don’t know of any other account that would have received the email.

Thanks in advance,
Howard H.
