Where do TR Discussions fall in the business plan?

by jdclyde . Updated 18 years, 12 months ago

We have had for a very long time, issues (others have) with double posting.

I have had all week, had problems getting into discussions. Over half the time, I only get this message:

”The page you’ve requested cannot be found.

For a listing of our latest articles, please go to the TechRepublic front page.

Funny, I go to the other sections of TR, and they load up just fine. hmmmmmmm.

We can’t get this fixed, but it is important enough to take the time to remove the “fix” for the arbitrarily assigned “Max level” for discussions? I am surprised that functionality wouldn’t have a higher priority? While on that topic, if you feel it so critical to break the fix, why would you have not at the same time done the simple fix of making it if you reply, it puts your reply under the last one instead of making people do the dance of finding the last post two screens up, that was one level lower?

Was there a problem going beyond this apparently arbitrary max level that we are unaware of?

Will the access get fixed as quickly as taking that feature away was?

Why is it only the discussion section seems to be hit by this?

It would be nice if an official source would answer these questions, either here or in a peer message.

thanks,
