Where Exchange Mailboxes Reside

by chempac . Updated 25 years, 8 months ago

I am part-time chemist & part-time IT (inherited job–very green at it). We have an Exchange Server with a an 8GB HD. The first partition is 3GB and this is where the server resides. The second and 3rd partitions are 2.5GB each and are used by theusers to backup their info (many powerpoint presentations, etc.) Our Exchange Server appears to be close to running out of room. Before it crashes I want to buy a new HD and use Ghost to clone it. I have some basic questions about Exchange that I can’t seem to find the answers to in the many articles I have read. I know that NT limits you to a 3GB partition. Can the mailboxes reside on a different partition than the Exchange Server program? Otherwise the same problem will arise with the partition being the same size as before. Any useful info would be appreciated. Thanks.
