Where is cd drives?

I have reformatted per instructions but the computer is not reading my 2 cd drives e and f.

now what? I cannot install windows if it does not read the drives???

This is not uncommon.

What is happening is that Windows default IDE driver cannot talk with the chip-set on your motherboard.

You need to download and install the IDE driver for the specific chip-set on your motherboard.

If you have a VIA chip-set, read the instructions on the download page at closely.

They have specific recommendations for older chip-sets and older versions of Windows.

- r u reading ur cd-drive from DOS?
if u have cddrive driver loaded?
