The network identification tab in Windows 98 provides a way to enter descriptive information about a computer. This info might be the type of PC, its property number, or its building location. The data entered appears as a comment in a detail viewof computers on the network.
The dialog box seems to be missing in Windows 2000, and I’ve not discovered a registry key (existing or new) that will enable display of the descriptive information as with Win98.
Interestingly, the Win98 info displays on a Win2000 network.
Is there a way in Windows 2000 to enter descriptive info about the PC?
