Where is my Task Manager?

By demrasi ·
I've tried a lot to open my task manager, when i tried to open from task bar or Ctrl+Alt+Delete, nothing shows up. Am I missing a file or is it enabled somewhere in my computer?

More info please?

What OS are you running
Have you had all the relevant updates
How long has this been a problem
What did you do just before the problem started
Do you have system restore points you could use
What antivirus, anti trojan, malware etc are you running?

Try running the System File Checker. This will make sure that all the files Windows needs are present and not corrupted. You can do this by clicking Start>Run and then typing:

sfc /scannow

then clicking OK. Make sure there is a space between 'sfc' and '/scannow'. You will need your Windows CD if any files need to be replaced.

Good luck

If you are joined to a Domain, your profile may be blocked access to it. Are you seeing the Task Manager option when you Ctrl+Alt+Del, but it's greyed out? Then it has been blocked, either on the local machine, or by your Domain Account. If you have Admin rights, and its your machine, click on Start, run and type in gpedit.msc Under the User Configuration choice, expand the Administrative Templates, and look for the System tab. There will be the Ctrl+Alt+Del settings. See if the Remove Task Manager option is set to enabled. If it is, change it to not configured or disabled.
