I am trying to find out where username/password information is stored when entered in gray Windows popup boxes that come up when browsing various web-based applications in IE. I have a gateway website that requires a login. Once a user logs in, he or she is presented with a master list of links to applications. An checkbox is available for the user to check so that the username/password will be remembered. If the user selects this option, where exactly is the username/password combination stored?
The issue I am having is that from time to time this information is wiped out and does not reappear.
I haven’t been able to find information on this. Any information you can provide would be helpful.
