Where to download MS patches/updates.

By cdobbin ·
In an earlier question someone asked about downloading patches/updates for WIN9X. Everyone commented on how to install them on the machines. My question is "Where can I download them?" when you go to the updates page it installs them automatically, "is there a way to save them as a file for later use?"
Thanks.

Where to download MS patches/updates.

there are some (actually many) downloads here.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/

Microsoft also sells a cd, service pack one. It costs 5.00 for S/H but it is not as good as it could be. I dont know of any way to redirect the download from the autoupdater though. It is done with virtual machine and is pretty much fully automated.

You can access Windows Update from the Start Menu, also the following site will take you to downloads www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads
www.smartcomputing.com
Once you get the microsoft page you can look at the top of page and click on menu to get drop down list, and there is the knowledgebase at http://support.microsoft.com
