Where to enter code?

By warrantytom ·
When trying to alter any of the MS Office applications with VBA, where do I make these scripting changes. I have seen a few ideas that I have liked and would like to try a few out. Even though I am very comfortable with MS Office, I have never worked with VBA. I would appreciate any help.

If you're just starting out, I'd recommend recording a Macro.
Go to Tools>Macro>Record New Macro. Perform some action (make some text Bold). Click on the Stop Recording button.
Now go back to Tools>Macros>Macros. Select the macro you recorded and click on the Edit button.
This will give you a feel of how the language works.
Good luck

Doug@Klippert.com,
Thank you for your help but it did not answer my question. I have worked with macros but only a little. I have been satisfied for the most part with Office97 as it is. VBA is a different subject. I am assuming that these changes would take place in the VBE in tools. Is this correct?
Thanks Again

Macros are written in Visual Basic for Applications programing language. If you follow my original suggestions, it will take you to the VB Editor. You might want to pick up a book, such as MS Press Step by Step. There are editions for Word and ExcelVBA. Pick the app that you are most comfortable with.
