Hi,
I hope someone here can point me in the right direction to find what I need.
I suffered a WD hard drive crash. I sent the drive to a company recommended by Western Digital — they have a “clean room,” etc. They said the scratch in the hard drive made the data unrecoverable.
However, I found someone who is pretty certain he can recover some of the data — but in order to do it he wrote:
“I’m going to have to remove the platter from this one and put it into the other casing, which means that the internal dimensions have to be 100% equivalent, with absolutely no room for error. Look for 80gb WD drives with these details:
Western Digital
80GB EIDE
WD800 / WD Caviar
Model: WD800BB-22FJA1
S/N: WCAJ93565409
Date: 14 JUL 2004
DCM: HSBACTJAH
MBD: 2061-001130-300 AG XC 1N33219N 5 0007020 5027
The MBD and Model number are deal breakers. The MBD should be exactly the same.”
I have searched for this exact MBD and Model number, but haven’t had any luck — part of the problem is that the drive is 3 years old. Doe anyone here know where I might locate an exact match?
Thanks in advance,
Diane
