I recently discovered that Windrivers.com has converted to a pay-service. Despite their vast and easily-navigated content & resources, I will choose not to pay for something that is essentially a compilation of free information. So, where do I go from here? Can anybody point me in the right direction for drivers and hardware ID resources that rival the services that Windrivers.com used to provide at no cost? I mean, it's one thing if we IT Pros can ID the hardware, but now I need a resourcethat not only can find me the correct driver, but also tell me who made the card. And please, refrain from listing any references for FCC ID tools and DriverGuide.com. Thanks in advance!

Although the old winfiles.com may have been an avenue to explore, its consolidation with Cnet's download.com actually seems to weaken it's resourcefulness. Download.com offers only a category subsearch. I need something with better filtering, as well as hardware identification resources. Thank you for putting in your time, though.
Maxwell, this is absolutely oustanding. I had researched drivershq and mrdriver before your posting, but I found driversplanet and driverzone abundantly more helpful. Thanks for your assistance.
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
Where to go for drivers now?
