Which Cable/DSL router is the best?

by techdictator . Updated 24 years, 10 months ago

I have a home network, a NetGear 10/100 Switch, 3COM Cable Modem. I have five IP addresses allocated to me through DHCP from my ISP. I host five domains with DNS, Web, FTP, Telnet services for them. I need a Cable/DSL router/firewall that will dosome sort of logging/reporting and also do NAT & PAT, DHCP client (to ISP) and server (for internal). I need it to be able to be multi-homed for the outside so I can use those five addresses and NAT/PAT them as needed (I think this is the real kicker here, I haven’t seen one that can be multi-homed AND be a DHCP client) I’ve already looked at NetGear and SMC, but I’m not sure if their routers meet all the requirements. The reviews at CNET and ZDNET weren’t that helpful either.
