Which consulting company is good for H1B

By gmg ·
Hi,
Is there any good consulting companies which takes good care of their employees? Most consulting companies take advantage of their H1B visa workers (temporary work visa). I heard about H1Bjobs.com - it seems they pay 90% of their billing rate and claim to take good care of their employees - any one know about this company, whether it is good or bad?

If not, do u know any good consulting companies, which tries to keep their employees in one place and also pays well?

regards.

you seem to be confusing to things... a consulting company will help you and/or your prospective employer get talent into the us to work.... what you get paidfrom the emplyer is another thing.. i suppose your looking for a immigration consultant/ techie temp agency - checkout www.dallasimmigration.com for a good dallas based immigration attorney - plenty of US info.

Murugesan,

I did hear about H1Bjobs.com. They probably are doing good by letting the employees keep 90% of the billing rate. But from what I know, finding the project is the employee's problem. So, with earning a big hourly rate being the plus, if you happen to go on bench, you will have to find your own means to survive until you find another project. If you can take that kind of a financial/marketing challenge, then it is an excellent opportunity.

And regarding consulting companies taking advantage of their H1B workers, I donot quite agree with what you say. Taking advantage is mutual. You stick to the company because you have a necessity and the company makes money on you. This is business. Each work for their own benefit.

There are quite a few good companies that value people and they can be found only by passing information amongst friends. I can suggest a few Emplifi Inc, Comsys, Decision Consultants Inc, EDS. But, I would like to stick to an Indian oriented company for the security of not being thrown out after a project. And the merit of a company is dependent on how you weigh your priorities. Ask yourself these questions and then weigh your proprities
1. Do you want to get your GC processed?
2. Do you intend to leave after 6 years and hence want to make as much money as possible?
3. How does bench effect the income?
4. What is my capability to adapt to new environments and take technical challenges.
5. What is my context-switch latency?

Hope this answer helps.
