Which Cpu

I gonna put together some old pc parts to make a file server, ? is I have a 550m PENTIUM 3 cpu and a 667m celeron, which cpu is better,

Myself, I would go for the Celeron CPU cus the P3 is most likely older that the Celeron.

Intel Pentium III 550 MHz runs at 100MHz FSB with 256/512KB L2 Cache.
Intel Celeron 667 MHz runs at 66MHz FSB with 128KB L2 Cache.

With this in mind, P III 550 MHz should give you much better performance than Celeron 667 MHz.

To find out your exact CPU info, download CPU-Z and run it.

Definitely the Pentium CPU. If you run a benchmark test at this two type of CPU the Pentium CPU have the highest performance. And the most important thing the Pentium processor is most resistant of all the types. So for a server machine the Pentium CPU is the best choice.
