I am in the market for a dual layer DVD burner. Not sure which one is best value & best features. The PC Mags seem to regard the NEC ND-2510A very highly but 2.4x burn in dual layer seems a bit prehistoric. Doe's anyone out there use this burner & how would you rate it ? Is there a better dual layer burner ? Thanks for your reply.

I work at a place that only buys from IBM we only use IBM Multi-burner (DVD) They work great have not had a problem with them. Been using them for over two years.
Thanks for everyone's input, all much appreciated and of help but has no one tried the NEC burner or something else that burns faster than 2.4 in DL. Kind Regards to All.
I had one of the first Sony Dual-layer burners and I had a 1 in 5 success rate, making lots of drink-coasters. Suspect it was the individual drive, not Sony in general, but I replaced with Pioneer DVR-A08/DVR-A08XL - EXCELLENT! Not one Coaster! Burns 8x DVD-R media at 12x
I have always had good luck with Plextor drives, whether they are IDE, SCSI, or SATA. Plextor has recently come out with three different SATA DVD+-RW dual layer drives.
