I personally like the 1.8 P4, the Pentium Chip seems to have more power than the Celeron and over time semms to be more stable.

The Pentium is preferred and a better processor, and possibly more compatible to run games.
The Celeron runs on a slower clock even though it has the same FSB,it would be more ideal fro overclocking

Why not try both and see how you like the performance. It only takes a couple of seconds to change them out.

The main differences between the two processors are L2 cache size and clock speed.
Because Intel continually develops newer and faster CPUs, comparison between the two sometimes falls into grey area. Celeron 2.7GHz is pretty much today thing and P4 1.8GHz yesterday thing.

And you said they both have the same FSB. So the deciding factor should be the L2 cache size.

P4 1.8GHz should have either 256 KB or 512 KB L2 cache and Celeron 2.7GHz 128KB or 256KB L2 cache.

If they both have the same L2 cache size, I would go with Celeron. Otherwise I would go with P4.

Another factor should be the price. If you have a definite amount to spend, then all the criteria above goes out the Window.
