Which is the best Contact Database/CRM software (alt. to ACT!)?

I work for a small business that is like a law firm.
We use ACT! for looking up phone numbers and addresses, storing client personal information, and for making history reports to track our weekly submissions.

We want to replace ACT! with a better contact database/CRM software. There are plenty of CRMs out there and we only need a software that does the exact features I described above (we don’t need any Salesforce like software for intense “customer insights – the digital Rolodex is what we’re after).

Can we please have suggestions for what software we should use? Do programs like HubSpot, Pipedrive, Nimble, or Insightly meet the requirements listed? Anyone have experience using these programs? Thanks.

The “best” CRM is entirely based on your requirements. For example, when I worked for a medium-sized company (300-500 employees), Microsoft AX was fantastic since it allowed us to personalize it. At the same time, I’ve worked for a small business (15 people), and Pipedrive was a wonderful fit for us, costing around $20 per month. To begin, you must first define what you require. Do you have a staff that can design your CRM in-house? What is the size of your company? What equipment do you require? etc.
