    Which laptop to go for?

    by adesogadotun ·

Hey, I’m trying to get a laptop and I am low on cash. Which should I go for? A laptop with AMD Ryzen 3 Pro 2300U – 1GB dedicated Vegas 6 graphics card OR one with an AMD Ryzen 3 3250U – 2GB dedicated Vegas 3 graphics card.

How will you be using the laptop? Hard to offer advice without knowing more. What budget? What make/model or home build? How much RAM? What type of HD or SSD and capacity? Based on what you said, it is impossible to answer your question.

But I don’t expect high performance or even for these to be crash free as they are old and refurbs. But hey, budget, works. Also, no to which one because used is used and no one can tell if they will be without troubles.

Thanks. One last question, do you think the HP ProBook 430 G5 Notebook (Core i5-8250U, 8GB ram, 256SSD, 6M cache), would be a better option rather the 2 mentioned above?

          No. Here’s why.

I’ve looked at i5 graphics vs the AMD graphics and the AMD has won most of the time. Since you are dealing with the titles noted I’d avoid machines with Intel integrated graphics.

I did not write the title would not run, but my bet is even poorer performance.

4 essential tips to know before you buy laptop

      my dear friend

Intel Pentium / Celeron: Typically found in laptops under $400, they offer the lowest performance but will work if your primary activities are web browsing and simple editing. If you can pay more to buy the Core 3 or 5 processor, you’ll be better.
Intel Core m / Core i5/i7 “Y Series:” Low power and low heat enable the processors of these models to be fan-free. Performance is higher than Celeron. However, it is still slightly lower than the regular Core U series.

Touch Screen If you’re purchasing an ordinary laptop instead of a 2-in-1 model, you’ll not get any benefit from the touch screen, and you’ll get about 2 to 3 hours less battery time. In 2-in-1s with a touch screen, they will be as standard. If you’re still in the market for the option of a touch screen, then go to our best laptops with touch screens page.
Graphics Chip In the absence of PC games, making 3D objects or performing high-quality video editing, an integrated graphics chip (one that shares memory with the system) is sufficient with Intel’s most recent Iris Xe graphics. If you’ve got any of the above requirements, but you’re not sure, a separate GPU processor manufactured by Nvidia or AMD is necessary.

Intel 11th-Gen CPUs: Intel introduced 1th Gen Tiger Lake processors that will power the next generation of laptops. Reading about these processors in greater depth is possible on this page. To sum up, Tiger Lake –is a 10-nanometer chip that provides enhanced built-in Iris Xe graphics with up to 4.8Ghz speeds and Thunderbolt 4 support. The new EVO brand defines the parameters for the top laptops, including at least nine hours of battery longevity.
