Which router to choose

By SDiCarrado ·
Help! I need to put my web server and db server behind a router and still be able to have at least 5 conncurrent VPN connections into it at one time. I was looking at a Linksys 4 port Cable/DSL vpn router, however, I have heard a few people's horror stories of the router freezing up during VPN connections. I need something that is extremely reliable! If anyone has any suggestions as to a reliable, secure, reasonably priced VPN router, please let me know, thank you!

Which router to choose

by maxwell edison In reply to Which router to choose

I use the Linksys BEFVP41 router, which supports up to 70 concurrent VPN connections. I have mine setup for only 5 connections, and it works great. The setup procedures are pretty easy, and my remote users like it just fine.

(There is one exception, however, but it is not related to the router. It's a problem on the client end using satellite Internet. I have a question posted - it's on the top of the featured question list, if your interested.)

Here are some links to information on the Linksys BEFVP41 router:

By the way, the cost is in the $150 range.
