Which SDRAM slots are occupied?

By davidag ·
How can I tell which SDRAM slots are occupied in a Dell PowerEdge 4400 server without turning it off? What software utility could tell me that?
(The downtime would not be acceptable, and it's running in a rack so the case is hard to take off.)
Probably impossible?

Hi, I haven't tried this myself on a server, but if your system is running a Windows O/S, the current version of the Belarc Advisor identifies the memory in the slots and tells you what's empty. You can download it at www.belarc.com/free_download.html
(This question certainly shows the importance of available documentation, doesn't it?)

Good luck,

---Will

That is just the kind of program I was looking for. It did tell which slots are occupied by what.

Thank you very much.
