Which should I use: RDFa, hCard, or Microdata (schema.org)?

I am completely revamping my employer’s website which means that I am also looking into SEO methods. I am confused however, by the choices offered.

Schema.org was put out there by the 3 mogul search engines. Of course everyone wants to show up in their top listings. I have however, seen W3C arguing against supporting schema.org for a variety of reasons, one of which is that it deviates away from the RDFa which is already being used and which W3C recommends.

Then, as I am looking more into details about which one to pick, I see hCard pop up (microformat) and now I am really confused.

We do not actually sell products on our website. It is entirely informative, however, we do want to use it to attract new customers to our product lines. I have already started using schema.org, but am wondering if this is the smartest thing to do.

Thanks!
Tink 😀
