I am struggling with which operating system to convert to from Win2K Professional: Unix or Linux. There are a ton of distributions out there, each one touting that it is the best. I’d rather hear from folks in the trenches. My home system is a 1Gz AMD with 256M RAM and about 15G HD. Should I go with Solaris? Red Hat? Corel? SuSe? Who offers the best combination kernel/software? Best installation process? Most drivers? Tech support?
