Why are Outlook Express View Options Shadowed?

    Locked

    by seveja ·

Running outlook express in windows XP. Wanting to change the text size and font settings for messages, but the options are shadowed. I have admin rights, but it doesn’t seem to matter. I have tried everything and still don’t have the options available.

Word or HTML as email editor

I only use Outlook in the enterprise environment (not express), but it may be that you need to select Word or HTML as the email editor in order to get fonts to change… or something in that direction.

Given my prior fondness for Outlook Express, that if you have it set for sending (or receiving) in Plain Text, choice of fonts and whatnot are teats on a bull — inoperative.

      In Outlook Express 6

There is no view option to change fonts or sizes.

You haven’t said which version of Outlook Express you are using but they are all fairly much the same.

Try clicking on Tools, then options then the compose tab – this is where you decide which font and font size you wish to use.

In Outlook Express 6 there is a view option for text size. If this option is greyed out then perhaps your outlook express is not fully installed.
