Why can't I change some icons?

By Old Dodger ·
I like my desktop loaded with shortcuts and I personalize them with my own icons with the 'change icon' option in the root properties. However does anyone know why CD/DVD drive icons cannot be changed? I get error message 'Target name not valid'

What is it supposed to do, this CD/DVD icon?

Unless it's something like a Roxio Icon.

What OS are we talking about here?

The system icons are more difficult to change, especially one which also depends on the media in the drive.

At some point in the past, created a shortcut for a Virtual Drive that had some ISO image mounted on it?

If the ISO is no longer mounted, or if the virtual drive no longer exists - that would result in an error like "Target name not valid".

Just a thought.
