Why can’t I get the USG to work with my network?

I have Fiber to my house. ONT connected to old N600 router, connected to 24 Port smart switch, etc. I am trying to replace my N600 with a Unifi USG so I have higher speeds (since n600 is <100Mbs) and have better security & whatnot. I have tried all I know to get it to work but to no avail. I know it has to be the USG because I can swap the N600 back in and Boom, whole network works once again and have Net access. swap to USG and Net access is dead. Highly irritated with Unifi crap right now.
oh... and I am definitely a newb. 🙂

EDITED: just got my DLink Router to connect. (in place of the N600) WOOT. better speeds but not my goal. just verifying that the USG is in fact.. the problem.
Anyone have ideas?

It’s an advanced setup. Figure it will take some time to get it tuned in.
