Why do I

By zlitocook ·
Get page not found and when I try to down load it says internet explorer can not down load every thing? I get the page not found in discussions and blogs no where else and the down loads are mainly PDF's.
I was able to do this two days ago with out a problem.

Ok I went MS and looked around down loaded two files and a PDF with no problems. I also went to Majorgeeks, Experts exchange, Eweek and three other sites. I was able to view PDF's and down load from all of them.
Is there a special port or setting for my firewall for TR?

I just tried it and had no problem with a TR download.

From time to time, the TR download server has problems.

I noticed last week that TR changed the downloads page which might have affected some links.

Many pop-up blockers stop TR downloads from opening the new window. Now that they do not have a secondary download link, you need to allow the pop-up.

Thursday evening is often a bad time to access TR content as that is when they tend to roll out updates and new features.

One other comment, if you are running Firefox with the PDF download extension, install the update that became available yesterday. The prior version had a number of bugs in it.

I have noticed the same problems from time to time on TR. Sometimes, I need to try a few times in a row, but eventually it starts working. Othertimes, I have sent messages to the TR folks and they usually already know what the problem is and are working to fix it.

As I recall, last year they did some major upgrades to the system. So far those upgrades seem to have helped. I also noticed that I have more trouble from work then from home, but that may be the internal firewall.

Still not working for me, Frday I do have firefox but have not been using it. Went through my dsl fire wall and the ports they say they need to have open are open I turned of the popup blocker. But why can I go every where else on the web and down load but not here? I was using aol before now I go right to the web. I did try logging back into aol but it did the same thing.
I have XP SP2 turned off its firewall because the modem has its own.

I hate to say it but I can do alot of things in aol, use the discussions link, use down loads buy right clicking. Why would aol let me do this on system and not be able to do this when I connect directly through the internet?
I have a Two wire modem with its own firewall, aol 9.0 se, XP Pro SP2 with all sp installed, windows defender updated, Windows fire wall disabled and the ports needed for TR open.
What dose aol enable for me to do this?
