    Why do phones get slower over time.

    I know that they are getting old and that could be the reason but I didn’t know if it was because they couldn’t keep up or what it was. So if you know please answer and thank you for reading.

      A primary reason is that as they get older, more and more available storage (memory) is filled up which makes less available for updated or new applications in the future. Some parts simply age and don’t work as well as they used to. Newer system updates may not be installed that may be designed to boost performance. Take your pick. Same issues that plague desktop/laptop computer users.

      For instance, my first home computer was developed in 1977 (Apple II) and it simply could not ever be updated to what is commonly found in a modern computer today. I didn’t have a hard drive or disk drive back then. My Timex wristwatch today has exponentially more computing power than that original computer.

      Technology is ever evolving and sometimes you have to get rid of the old and replace it with something newer.
