Why does LCD Flat panel screen have rolling lines?

By Darmstadtrunner ·
My HANNS-G 19" LCD monitor ahs faint lines rolling from bottom to top of the screen. Most of the time it is not too distracting, but sometimes is. What can I do to fix this, if it's possible to do so?

It ought to be set for 60Hz but some graphics cards can take it upon themselves to push the refresh rate up.

On even 61Hz my 22" Hanns-G can exhibit slight deformation of screen image.

Refresh Rate

I checked it and it's on 60Hz so maybe the monitor is just getting on in age, like me. Thanks

Anything change before the lines showed up?

by seanferd In reply to Refresh Rate

Could possibly be subtle electrical interference in the mains, like 60 cycle hum, or a ground loop.

Or even

another magnetic field too close to the monitor; florescent light, fan, heater, etc. even an older florescent light overhead that syncs up with the monitor refresh rate (a different type of tube would work).
