Why does Windows Explorer stops working?

By ronald44181000 ·
I am using Windows Vista with all of the latest patches along with Windows Security Essentials and Windows explorer continuously stops functioning. Usually happens when I'm attempting to access the remove programs folder in control panel, even does it when I'm using a third party program such as CCleaner.

Explorer issues

by drumright In reply to Why does Windows Explorer ...

Please check your resources, usually memory is the issue for explorer crashing or it could be issues with a video card having corrupt drivers. Please go to start/type; eventvwr in the search bar and press enter. Now check system and application event logs close to the same time Explorer crashes. Post any errors or warnings related, and also let us know how much memory is available.
