Why doesn’t my system not boot?

I recently bought a ram stick kingston 8 gb ddr4 2666 mhz cl19 , but when I put it in the gigabyte a320m-s2h motherboard and turned on the pc it didn’t “beep” and the screen went black. I wanted to combine it with an ADATA stick with the same specifications I had but the pc didn’t start even when I only used the new stick. What should I do considering that both slots work and the PC starts with the old stick?

Make sure the RAM stick is compatible with motherboard

Need to check compatibility with wherever you purchased the RAM. Also check the actual serial numbers on the RAM, could be it was mixed up prior to shipping, contact whomever you purchased it from for exchange if needed.

      The usual.

      1. It’s not plugged in.
      2. The BIOS is out of date (BIOS determines compatibility. Updates may add more compatible sticks.)
      3. It’s just not compatible. (Ask Kingston.)
      4. It’s a bad stick. Test in other PCs?
      5. Return it, get it from lists like https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/gigabyte/ga-a320m-s2h

        6. There is a board issue. This is usually found after known compatible sticks fail and a new board works.

If your sure that both slots work with the adata stick and neither slot works with the kingston stick then send the kingston stick back and shop for an EXACT match for the adata stick.

Reasons Why Your System Isn’t Booting Up

      by brack nelson ·

In reply to Why doesn’t my system not boot?

There could be many reasons why your system isn’t booting up. Few of them could be an issue in power jack supply, motherboard failures, hard drive failure. Here I’ll talk about software issues.

Software (operating system such as Windows) can give failure results similar to the hard drive such as not booting into the operating system.

Software that was installed incorrectly, updates that failed or virus/malware infections that can do big harm to the computer.
