Why Doesn't YAMAHA make DVD Burners anymore?

Yamaha is one of my Favorite companies, and I build PCs and I am getting ready to put together my next "Super Computer" "Dream machine" and I am looking around for a Yamaha Blu-ray DVD burner and I can't find one. Seems like Yamaha would be raking it in if they got more involved in the Computer Industry. I don't get it, they could be making Sound cards for Studio recording, that would put the XFI cards to shame! And they could be getting into all the VST side of the Sound Card stuff, Multi-Inputs and they would have the ability to go to the Extreme in Audio Amplification for Computer High Fidelity. So what's up? Does anyone know what Yamaha's Deal is?

Can You Say Profit?

Look around. A lot of the old reliable companies have left the PC industry.

There just is not enough profit, or prospect for growth for most companies to justify the cost to stay in the market.

While independent system builders will be around a few more years, the numbers are dwindling. As people move to laptop and mobile systems as their primary device, the market for custom built computers will drop.

When you look at the cost of the other brands of components on the market, it makes even less sense for Yamaha and other top end companies to stay in the PC market.
