Dear Friends,
My name is Michael and I live in the United States.
I am taking a step towards a carreer in LINUX and I have a few books to
help me get a good fundation. This afternoon I took the challenge to install
my first system but did not succeed. I encountered a technical problem and
please I need help from someone out there.
Just to give you a little backgroud to my system, my computer’s CPU is Pentium
with 133MHz speed. mY CDROM functions very and I was able to use my Red Hut CD
to boot the system.
However, I heva just installed a new hard disk. It is an IDE 40GB 5400RPM ATA100
manufactured by Western Digital. I partitioned it into four 10GB partitions
using the manufacturer’s disk intallion utility and also installed
Windows 2000 Profesional. Windows is running very well. But when I boot the
system from the CDROM in an attempt to Install LINUX (RED HAT LINUX 6.1)
the OS’s instalation procedure fails to locate the hard disk. Below is the
Error message:-
FDISK ERROR
AN ERROR OCCURRED READING THE PARTITION TABLE FOR THE BLOCK DEVICE hda.
THE ERROR WAS. NO SUCH FILE OR DIRECTORY.
what is the problem ? Does the linux have any problem with FAT32?
I am stuck please give me some technial advice.
My email address is mukonect@mailcity.com
