Why I can't access a particular website using INTERNET EXPLORER?

By charmedwitchesp3 ·
I'm trying to create my own website to those sites catering own web creation for free. I tried it on freewebs.com while I created link for team forum via bravenet.com. I'm using firefox as my browser. When I asked a friend to check on the site. He can't access the team forum using his Internet explorer. I also tried accessing bravenet.com using IE but all I got is a blank page. Why is this so? Does PHP has something to do with it or the LAN connection or something else? Why is it that I CAN access the website thru FIREFOX and CAN'T access it on Internet Explorer? Thanks in advance!!!!!

Bravenet works fine in IE for me

You might have IE configured incorrectly to view the page. It works fine for me (bravenet.com)

freewebs.com also works in IE.

IE - dial-up and LAN Connections vs. Firefox on same settings/set-up

by charmedwitchesp3 In reply to Bravenet works fine in IE ...

Thanks, for your reply.... Yup I also tried to access bravenet using a dial up connection and IE browser and it worked! But can't still figure out what's wrong on my recent set-up, I don't want to end up re-formatting my computer just to make it work, does the LAN connection has something to do with it, in dial up it's ok but using the LAN connection isn't but in firefox browser is also ok using the same LAN connection. Hope you can help me figure this out. I'm a non-tech engineer and new in IT industry (i just know a little of everything (webdevelopment, software eval, network admin but not really an expert in this field) My work is more on administering system project developments. Hope you can help me figure this out. Thanks, again.

how to fix it

by pcarmoni In reply to Why I can't access a part ...

1. Right click on My Network Places

2. Click Properties

3. Right click on Local Area Connection, or what ever one you?re connected with

4. Click Properties

5. Click once on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to highlight it

6. Click on the Properties button below

7. Make sure at the bottom 'Obtain DNS automatically is selected- if not, select it.

Good luck
