Why I love the IT field

By zlitocook ·
I have been a contractor for four or five years and would not ever think of giving up the job! I have met some great people, learned things I could not in other jobs and it is a field where you keep learning!
I have been a building rehabber, a roofer, and a highway construction worker. I was a manager at red lobster, I have been held up twice and shot once in my side. And after all the backbreaking work, I went back to school. I do not make as much as I could in the other jobs but I make friends. I help others and see results in minutes not weeks or months.
I can be the great person who just saved every thing for one person or that IT guy who just let everyone do what they needed to get the job done.
A good IT person will do what?s needed and some times get the respect that?s needed.

It is a great way for me to do what I like and I get great pay for doing what I like!

Am I crazy or is there others like me out there?

I agree, I get the most out of helping smaller companies out. They dont have an IT guy and not alot of money to spend of Consulting.

When you finally get their system up and running and they are able to do business better, thats when you get a good sense of satisfaction.
