Trained a model on user data, but predictions now skew toward certain outputs. Could it be a dataset issue? How can I balance fine-tuning without introducing bias?

Use more and more various data to train your AI. It echos what it learns, so it echos the bias in your data.

Train it with all you can find about The Lord of the Rings, and it will tell you about the Ring.

“May 2, 2025 — On April 25th, we rolled out an update to GPT‑4o in ChatGPT that made the model noticeably more sycophantic.”

      Also what Kees wrote.

Yes, it’s likely a dataset issue—imbalanced or non-representative data can cause biased outputs. Try augmenting with diverse examples and use techniques like reweighting or adversarial training to reduce bias. Regularly evaluate with fairness metrics.
