I have an ancient compaq 5wv270.
Actually, nothing is original on/in it. Not even the box or the mb. But the mb is the manufactures replacement. So we’ll have to call it that, for a lack of anything better to call it.
I have recently been getting the character ? in the middle of my start up screen about 2/3 of the way over to the right on the monitor.
When I say the start up screen, I mean the black screen from bios.
Any idea why?
It is kind of bugging me.

P.S. the character that is making an appearence on my monitor is not a question mark “?” as it shows here. For some reason this aplication is changing it. The character is an ” a ” with a dash over it that goes northeast, providing north is up.
