In the past 2 years the battle between windows and linux has really heated up, especially since the release of windows 2000.
First, I must state that no OS is perfect and that in the end the choice is, as choice means, really just an opinion. If you choose to go with one OS instead of another it is your opinion. You might be let down (like some people were with win00), in which case you can explore other options, or opinions.
My question is this: Why only Linux or windows? All the articles published here have basically been “I hate windows”, or “I love you, Linux”. I haven’t heard that apple stopped publishing software and its OS.
why is it that this debate has become an issue of your love for Linux or how much you hate Bill gates, and how much you think windows is the best thing since… well, Unix.
why is no one exploring other options. To all the Linux lovers, Linux was made as popular as it is today only by people exploring the other unknown options. Right now on any given University, a talented student might be inventing just what it is we all need. Who is on top of this?
I think we need to see some information on all the OS’s and not just the fun to talk about ones of the moment.
