Why reload the entire page to just change 1 picture?

When viewing techrepublic articles like 20 worst named products the entire webpage has to reload instead of just changing the picture. It takes forever, while other webpage???s are quick to just refresh the picture and adjoining text. I am always defending the great content we have here to others that hate the webpage clumsiness.

This site is a mess

Seems kind of embarassing for a tech blog that includes a web developer section. This site is slow and buggy. I don't have time to report all of the bugs but the most pertinent to usage is that the voting system stopped working months ago. When I click + or - absolutely nothing happens. It also fails to post sometimes. I have not been participating in this forums as much because of it. I think that if the webmaster looked at forum activity they could draw coralations between site updates and community response.

(it is a completely different experience when you compare IE7 to FireFox. Mainly that this site doesn't work in IE7)
