whats the error message say?

Did you install them correctly?

Are they fully seated? Did you follow the proper procedure for changing the cartridges? Did you touch the shiny metal electronic bit on the cartridges?

And yes, the point of an error message is to tell you what the problem is. Maybe you could look it up or at least tell us what it says.
